The annual Ohio Air Mobility Symposium is a student-run cohort at Ohio State University. The purpose is to address the question: What will advanced air mobility mean for the state of Ohio? To answer this question, we explore how the birthplace of Aviation can position itself as a hub for AAM research, testing, and manufacturing, in addition to proactively shaping policy and infrastructure planning efforts to integrate air mobility into our Ohio communities safely and equitably. Planning for and implementing air mobility in our state will require a robust partnership between academia, government, and industry stakeholders.
The Symposium is a collaboration between multiple research centers and student hubs at The Ohio State University, including (but not limited to) The Center for Aviation Studies (CAS), The College of Engineering (COE), The Battelle Center for Science, Engineering, and Public Policy, The Aerospace Research Center (ARC), and The Center for Automotive Research (CAR). Other external event partners include The Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport, The Ohio Department of Transportation State Mobility Agency, the UAS Center, and the State of Ohio’s flagship Economic Development organization, JobsOhio. Other event partners include the nationally recognized Community Air Mobility Initiative (CAMI) and Vertical Flight Society (VFS).
The student team comprises Ohio State University leaders with various aviation, engineering, and air transportation backgrounds
