The Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) is responsible for policy development, planning, resource management and program evaluation. OSD includes the offices of top civilian defense decision-makers with regard to personnel, weapons acquisition, research, intelligence and fiscal policy, as well as offices the Secretary establishes to assist in carrying out assigned responsibilities.

Created in 1953, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) continues to help small business owners and entrepreneurs pursue the American dream. The SBA is the only cabinet-level federal agency fully dedicated to small business and provides counseling, capital, and contracting expertise as the nation’s only go-to resource and voice for small businesses.

The Army Research Laboratory is the U.S. Army's corporate research laboratory. ARL is headquartered at the Adelphi Laboratory Center in Adelphi, Maryland. Its largest single site is at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is the administrative department of the Ohio state government responsible for developing and maintaining all state and U.S. roadways outside of municipalities and all interstates in the state of Ohio with exception of the Ohio Turnpike.

The National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) is the Department of Defense’s (DoD) primary source for foreign air and space threats. NASIC creates integrated, predictive intelligence in the air, space, and cyberspace domains enabling military operations, force modernization, and policymaking.

The Naval Medical Research Unit Dayton is a major DoD medical ​research command and the home of the Naval Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory and the Environmental Health Effects Laboratory. As a subordinate command to Naval Medical Research Center, NAMRU-Dayton conducts aerospace medical and environmental health effects research to enhance warfighter health, safety, performance, and readiness. NAMRU-Dayton conducts re​search to address identified Fleet needs, and results in products and solutions ranging from basic knowledge, to fielded ​technologies.

The National Science Foundation is an independent agency of the United States government, that supports fundamental research and education in all the non-medical fields of science and engineering. Its medical counterpart is the National Institutes of Health.

The Office of Naval Research coordinates, executes and promotes the science and technology programs of the United States Navy and Marine Corps.
